Landscape Project is a GO for Sunday

It looks like the weather will clear up by lunchtime on Sunday.  We will plan to meet at GBE at 1 p.m. this Sunday to weed, plant flowers and mulch the beds in front of the school.

  • Do NOT wear your Scout uniform!  You will be getting dirty!
  • Wear or bring warm clothes, it will be a little chilly.
  • We will have water
  • But NOT bathrooms!
  • Please bring yard tools
Thank you to everyone who is pitching in to help this weekend!  Including the Girl Scouts.  This project only takes a few hours, but it depends on getting LOTS of volunteers!

Landscape Project April 26 1pm

This Sunday, April 26th, Pack 1863 will meet at GBE to weed, plant and spread mulch for the school.  This is a big annual service project for the boys and our way of showing appreciation to GBE for their support of Pack 1863.

Important note: GBE bathrooms will NOT be available!
Please bring yard tools and gloves!

Scouting for Food

This Saturday we will have our collection day for Scouting for Food.  We will meet again at GBE at 9 a.m.  After collection, we will sort the food at GBE before handing it over to the Boy Scouts for transport to the food bank.  We need boxes.  Please bring any boxes that are about the size of a standard paper ream box.  A great turn out Saturday morning will go a long way in making this process go quickly and smoothly.  Remember, the kids get a service project patch for Scouting for Food!

Scouting for Food this Saturday!

Scouting for Food is our annual effort to collect food in our Greenbriar neighborhood to donate to the local are food pantry.  We meet at the school on the first Saturday in November at 9 a.m. to distribute bags and flyers throughout the neighborhood.  Then we meet again the next Saturday at the same time to go around and collect the food and sort it before the Boy Scouts deliver it to the food pantry.  This is a Community Service Project for the boys and reinforces our theme of Citizenship for the month of November.  The more participation we have the faster everything gets done!  We will be joined by another local Pack, the Girlscouts, Daisy’s and Boy Scouts.  The first Saturday is usually pretty fast, but both days we are typically finished before lunchtime.  We look forward to seeing you this Saturday at 9 a.m.  DON”T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR SCOUT UNIFORMS!

Earn your Recruiter Patch!

Did you know your Cub Scout can earn a special Recruiter Patch for helping to bring new members into the Pack?  We have many new families moving into our area, so help spread the word about scouting and earn a patch at our September Pack Meeting.  Pack 1863 will also have a table set up at the GBE Back to School Nights.  If you know parents who are interested in scouting, please have them stop by and talk with us.

GBE Folder Stuffing

Hello Scouts and Scout Families,

GBE has asked for assistance in stuffing those fabulous First Day Packets! This opportunity is for scouts and their families.  The more people we have the quicker this gets done.
