Community Support Needed

Dear Pack Families,

The GBE Scouting Community (led by our GBE Girl Scouts), at the request of the GBE counselors, is being asked to channel some of our energy around COVID-19 into supporting families in our community who need assistance given the extended shutdown of the schools,  and the impact this will have on their ability to access school meals and potential loss of income.
Can you spare a few extras of something you picked up at the grocery store?
Items Needed:
Canned goods, pasta, rice, ramen, cooking oil, peanut butter and jelly crackers, Clorox cleaning wipes, cleaning solution, hand soap, baking mix, cereal, oatmeal, applesauce, nuts, shelf stable milk, soup.
Food Donations can be dropped off BY TOMORROW (this Sunday) at:
12843 Mount Royal Lane (Ivy Home)
Or
12804 Mount Royal Lane (Lynch home)
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please do so by 5pm TODAY (SATURDAY), so one final shopping trip can be done.  For monetary donation please go to PayPal.me/troop2940 and choose the friend option.
Thank you for your time and efforts to ‘help others in need at all times’.  Wishing everyone health and wellness during the next few weeks.

Reminders:

  • Safety First!
    • Parents should be taking the donations from the scouts and putting them into the cars.
    • Kids should not be leaving the sidewalks to go into the streets or crossover without supervision.
    • Stay with kids when they need to wait for a neighbor to go inside and gather collections.
    • Do NOT let them go inside of people’s homes. If they have an emergency, please have an adult from our group supervise them.
  • We need 1 Driver for each Den/ Group to drive the routes and act as a mobile collection point. Please see me at arrival if you would like to volunteer.
  • Please knock on doors! We have seen a dramatic increase in donations when we started knocking. Many people just simply forget.
