Please come out Saturday morning and support Scouting for Food and our efforts to collect food and needed items for our community Food Bank.

Meet at Greenbriar East Elementary at 8:45 a.m.

Pack 1863 Car Cutting Clinics will be held next weekend. Expect to need at least an hour to complete the work at the clinic. At the clinics, each participant will have their car cut and learn to sand and shape their race car. You will go home with the kit and continue to sand and then paint your car. Cars can be designed for creativity or speed. Have fun with your designs!
Use this link to sign up for a 1 hour time slot. This will help me organize the flow of racers at my home shop. If you would like to complete your kit at home, just stop by to purchase your kits and ask any questions before your go.
This year we have reduced the number of fundraisers for Pack 1863. As a result, we will need to have every participant purchase their own kits. The cost of the kit this year is $4.50 at the Scout Store. I will purchase the kits ahead of the clinic and have them available for each participant to purchase at cost from me.
Please sign up for your clinic time below. Email me if this weekend does not work for you. I will hold additional clinics, if needed, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate.
We look forward to seeing you at our Den Meetings this Thursday (October 18) at 6:30 p.m. Our meeting will be in Art Room 2.

On March 9, we will be participating in the annual Friends of Scouting campaign. This is a very important part of our commitment to Scouting because it helps support all the great things Scouting provides to our youth. A scouting volunteer representative will be here to explain the importance of the program and collect donation pledges. Each unit is asked to help carry a little bit of the load and many participants make light work. We understand family budgets vary but ask that you invest in our youth as much as is comfortable. The attached brochure has some suggested levels and explains more about the program and its importance.
So why is your donation important? Friends of Scouting is the second largest source of funds for our local council programs. If we fall short, our programs and camps are left without the resources to keep them well maintained and our programs strong. There is no “someone else” to take care of this. Consider this: For more than 100 years, families before ours gave their time and resources to Scouting and the program we enjoy today is available because they did. Let’s make sure that the new Cubs and Scouts have great Scout camps to go to. Let’s make sure that the families yet to come have the opportunities our youth have.
I am asking you to join us by making your pledge to keeping Scouting well-funded and strong. The attached PDF pledge card can be mailed back, or parents can use the NCAC online pledge system:
Important – if you use the online system, please send a copy of their receipt to me and the SullyDistBSA.FOS@gmail.com so that we can record your pledge and arrange the recognition items appropriate.
Congratulations to all of our racers this Saturday! We had a fantastic time at the Pinewood Derby. THANK YOU to all those who supported the Pack by volunteering your time and donations that made this event such a success. This is our most time intensive activity for the Pack and we truly appreciate all the help it takes to make it a memorable race for the kids.
