Pack Meeting Tonight at 7 p.m.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! Our November Pack Meeting will be tonight at 7 p.m. at GBE. Our November theme is COURTEOUS- Cubs in Shining Armor.

A Scout Is Courteous. How Does “Cubs in Shining Armor” Relate to This Point of the Scout Cub_Scout_CharactersLaw? A Scout knows good manners make it easier for people to get along together. The word “courteous” is an old English word that comes from the time of knights. Many associate chivalry and graciousness with a knight in shining armor because of their code of conduct. The knight’s code of conduct extols these virtues, ensuring that a Cub Scout in shining armor will exhibit courtesy to all.

Pack Meeting Oct. 4th

pack-meetingIt’s Pack Meeting Time! We will have our Pack Meeting this Tuesday, October 4th at 7 pm at GBE. Our October theme is KIND.

In our lives, we encounter many people and have many chances to make an impact on their lives. Showing kindness in small ways might make a difference for someone who really needs it. Don’t wait for the perfect moment to do something kind for others; do what you can each day to show you are kind.

Creepy Crawlers kids07_creepy_crawlers_image01

This month Scouts will learn how creepy crawlers relate to kindness and the Scout Oath. A Scout does not hurt or kill harmless things without reason. This month, explore creepy crawlers and discover the world of insects. The Scouts will learn that creepy crawlers are important to our world, and they will learn how to be kind to our crawling friends.

Donation Collections

Every Year Pack 1863 is a proud supporter of Scouting for Food.  This event happens the first two Saturdays in November.  We join other local Packs, Girl Scout Troops and Boy Scout Troops to collect donated food and necessities from our Greenbriar neighbors to help our community.

We meet at GBE.  Please sign in when you arrive and join your Den.  The first Saturday we will be distributing the flyers, returning to collect donations on the following Saturday.  This is a great opportunity for the boys to give back to their larger community and help our neighbors.  Pack 1863 Cub Scouts will earn a Community Service Patch for this event.
